A Bit About Me
Hello all! I’m Lindsey Ebaugh and I’m a biology enthusiast from Haywood County. I graduated from UNC Pembroke with a BS in zoology and a minor in geology. I immediately became a beekeeper after graduating and traveled around the United States for that year. I continued on to work in a Methodist church as a middle school youth director for another couple of years before becoming totally self-employed as a caretaker, nanny, and pet-sitter. At the beginning of 2020, I began my teaching journey. I have been in and out of the Haywood County public school system as a substitute teacher, as well as primary teacher, and I’ve had some experience teaching with a home school co-op in Haywood County. Being within the confines of the school system, was not something that fit my personality or peaked my interest. I am highly motivated by hands-on learning that is exciting, new, fresh, and not necessarily predictable or quantifiable.

My main interests/ areas of expertise include aquatic macro-invertebrates, reptile and amphibian identification and education, identifying birds by flight pattern and sound, identifying trees by leaves and bark, and identifying wild mushrooms. I hope to incorporate some of that and more into my classes this year. Being able to work outside in an educational capacity is exactly what I feel like I was created to do, and I am so excited to begin this journey with AATA.
