Mountain View Play School is happy to offer day camp sessions on the AATA campus.
During our time together we will journey through our weekly themes with songs, stories, games, and crafts. We will immerse ourselves in the unfolding of Summer in the Appalachians and lean into the essence of
childhood magic.
Lead by Shelby Medley, your child will experience traditional songs, folklore, dances, and crafts born from these very hills. We will invite fellow musicians to share their music, keepers of the land to share their stories, and truly absorb everything that this season has to offer.

This is a small limited camp for up to 5 children. Enjoy a Waldorf-style rhythm focused on the natural world and the micro-seasons within Summer in the Appalachians. Will include creek time, farm animals, crafts, fort making, wild foraging & early fire making safety & skills. Lead by Forest Floor & AATA Teen Trained Facilitators.

Midsummer Night’s Dream
Theater Camp

Embark on an enchanting adventure at the Midsummer Night's Dream Theater Day Camp, specially designed for students ages 10-16 who are stepping into the magical world of theater for the first time! Nestled in the heart of the stunning Blue Ridge Mountains, this week-long immersive camp invites young enthusiasts to discover the joy of acting, prop-making, and costume creation.

Throughout the week, friendly and experienced theater instructors will guide campers through a fun and interactive exploration of a magical snippet of Midsummer Night's Dream. From learning the ropes of acting to crafting their own props and costumes, every day is filled with laughter, creativity, and new friendships.
The highlight of the camp is the outdoor performance on the last day, where families and friends are invited to witness the budding actors as they bring Shakespeare's timeless tale to life against the backdrop of nature's beauty.
No previous theater experience is required—all materials and guidance are provided, making it the perfect opportunity for young minds to unleash their creativity and discover the joy of theater in a supportive and welcoming environment. Start every morning with a peaceful walk in nature. Fully immersed in the beauty of the sights, the familiarity of the smells, and sweet sounds of nature. Each day a different spot to relax, take in our surroundings and become one with nature. Let pen meet paper. Watch as magic flows and your inner poet emerges. Journals and writing materials provided.
Flight of the Butterfly Weekend Backpacking Adventure
Ages: 8-13 girls Only

Welcome to the Flight of the Butterfly Summer Camp, a thrilling backpacking adventure designed for girls ages 8-13, nestled in the breathtaking wilderness of Western North Carolina. As participants arrive at our scenic base camp, they will be introduced to the art of backpacking by seasoned guides. The camp focuses on empowering young girls with essential outdoor skills, from setting up a campsite to navigating through the lush, untamed landscapes of the region. Learning survival basics becomes a stepping stone for a weekend filled with adventure, growth, and camaraderie.
